YS announces more sops to BC Communities

After announcing various sops to people belonging to backward classes, Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy today agreed to sanction Rs. One crore each to AP Nayee Brahmin, Vaddera and Washermen federations. Besides, he has also agreed to sanction Rs.50 lakhs to the proposed federations of Dudekula communitiey.

The Chief Minister, according to a press release here, called for a high-level meeting at secretariat here to review functioning of BC welfare department and financial assistance schemes extended to BC Occupational groups and societies. Minister for BC welfare Mr. M. Mukesh Goud, Principal secretary to BC welfare Mr. Satyanarayana Rao, Managing director to BC cooperative financial corporation Mr. E. Yellappa, Principal secretary to rural development Mr. K. Raju, CEO to SERP Mr. Vijay Kumar, Principal secretary to industries Mrs. Srilakshmi, Secretary to finance Ms. Vasudha Mishra and other senior officials concerned participated in the meeting.

NEW FEDERATIONS

Assuring support to the existing societies for modernization, training for skill upgradation and marketing, Dr. Reddy has asked the officials of BC welfare department to come up with new schemes to help the BC occupational groups to modernize and market their profession. He also asked them to take steps for helping the existing societies for modernization etc. The Chief Minister wanted the officials to prepare a new scheme to form new societies under these groups and come out with estimates to provide financial assistance to them.

The State Government has proposed to set up Federations exclusively for Dudekula, belonging to BC community.
